i haven't been able to sleep for two days. is it something psychiatric and why?

Maybe, maybe not: It could be many things -- and could pass on its own. It could be something psychiatric, or other things like use of stimulant drugs or withdrawal from others. Or an acute stress response to something frightening.  Or hyperthyroidism.   If it continues, you need to see your own physician for an assessment in order to learn what's causing your insomnia & treat it.  Good luck to you.

if i stop all my psychiatric meds except for one to sleep, cold turkey can that be the cause of my  jumpieness ?

Why did you stop: Abilify (aripiprazole) and Cymbalta cold turkey?  That is risky and can side effects. Please consult with the prescribing medical provider.

if one took many psychiatric drugs that interfered with sleep can one eventually return to normal sleep patterns immediatelyafter all drugs are gone?

Immediately?: It's very hard to answer your question, because i don't know what drugs we're talking about, how long you've taken them, or what conditions you're dealing with.  All these issues are important and could affect sleep quality.  Also some medications are unsafe to stop suddenly, and must be tapered.  I see Clonazepam on your medication list, and this one should definitely not be stopped suddenly.

Sleep: Some are mood disorders, anxiety disorders, substance abuse disorders, delirium/dementias.

Why stop medications: Assuming you don't have an illness that causes sleep symptoms, then your sleep problems will go away. On the other hand, majority of psychiatric illness cause sleep symptoms, especially insomnia. If your sleep problem doesn't go away, you will be wise to to talk to your psychiatrist and figure out a better treatment.

which is the most effective way to regulate my sleep beside from psychiatric drugs,  after my night shifts?

Sleep Hygiene is Key: Retire &amp; rise same time each day. Keep bedroom dark &amp; cool &amp; use only for sex &amp; sleep. Turn off tv. No naps. Exercise regularly but not in late evening. No caffeine for 6 hrs &amp; no alcohol or tobacco w/i 2 hrs of sleep. Keep dinner moderate sized &amp; finish at least 2 to 3 hrs before sleep. Can try warm milk, Chamomile tea or melatonin along w light reading, warm bath or lavender scent.

Please see doctor!: This person really needs to see a physician -- psychiatrist would be best.  Depression is serious -- "suicidal depression" implies even more acuity, where acting on these ideas might be possible.  Effective treatments exist, being provided in the context of comprehensive evaluation.  Medications combined with psychotherapy give the best results.  If suicidal intent, hospitalization is needed.

i never had a problem sleeping before psychiatric medication but upon discontinuing medications i have been unable to sleep at all.why is this?

Sleep: Sleep wake switch is altered by many meds including benzodiazepines like Klonopin (clonazepam) which help you sleep but when you stop you can get insomnia and withdrawal symptoms etc.

i feel like i was completely healthy before i started all my psychiatric meds. now i feel weak, unable to sleep without medication, depressed, angrywhy?

Contradictory: If you felt "completely healthy, " what led you to seek out someone who started prescribing medications for you--and why did you take them?  The symptoms you describe could be side effects of mediciations or indications of a psychiatric disorder or both.  Find someone you can trust and with whom you can develop a solid relationship so you can ask these questions and get specific answers.
