Maybe, maybe not: It could be many things -- and could pass on its own. It could be something psychiatric, or other things like use of stimulant drugs or withdrawal from others. Or an acute stress response to something frightening. Or hyperthyroidism. If it continues, you need to see your own physician for an assessment in order to learn what's causing your insomnia & treat it. Good luck to you.

Insomnia: Talk to your doctor about this to see if you need assessed for secondary insomnia (insomnia due to other organic or psychological factors) which can be treated. Meanwhile you can try the sleep hygiene techniques.
