Yes: Some medications can precipitate psoriasis or make it worse. A few of these are lithium, beta-blocking agents, antimalarial drugs, and systemic steroids. (steroids may rapidly improve psoriasis, but it may worsen when they are withdrawn.).

See details: The two most effective classes of systemic meds are Methotrexate and tnf antagonists. Each can be taken long term. Methotrexate, imo, carries less risk and except for very severe disease, merits the first try.

: Psoriasis is unpleasant for most people.  It can make you tired itself.  You probably know that there are many severities of psoriasis; the best treatment is tailored to the extent of the psoriasis, other unrelated illnesses, and the needs of the patient. Primary care doc: Given the multiple issues you are facing, it would be prudent to have a primary care doctor coordinate your care. For anemia, you may take oral iron and multivitamins. For weight loss, reducing your caloric intake and increasing physical activity are paramount. There are no reliable, safe medications for losing weight.

i have psoriasis on my elbows. they are doing great. there's no crust on them .they're perfect. i put my medication on twice a day. however, why is it that a small part of my arm going down to the elbow is dark?

: It would require physical examination to know better, however, it is likely post-inflammatory pigmentation and will fade gradually. It may take much longer than you may like, but it is harmless.

Topical steroids: Psoriasis can be treated with various topical medications including corticoteroid creams, ointments, sprays, and foam products.  Psoriasis can also respond to vitamin d creams, such as dovonex.   Another class of medications are retinoids, such as tazorac.  Often times dermatologists can combine these treatment regimens to effectively treat the psoriasis plaques.

Oral or shots: If it is localized a compound of lcd and salicylic acid can help. If it is extensive methotrexate, soriaitane or a biologic such as Enbrel (etanercept) will work, although results vary by individual.

Uris acid: elevation may , in fact, be due to your skln problem!
Control the skin and the uric acid may normalize!!!

To control Psoriasis without medication often sunlight will help....and light therapy is also used
