Maybe: Monobactams are drugs chemically similar to the penicillins. The only commercially available monobactam in the United States is a drug called aztreonam, it is effective against some strains of pseudomonas but not all. Because of this it is more of a second choice agent in those who can not take drugs that have greater efficacy because of allergies etc.

In fact this can vary to some degree depending on the antibiotic sensitivities specific to the pseudomonas strains  prevalent in a particular hospital or community.

This kind of pneumonia is fairly common in patients who become very ill from some other problem are require support in the intensive care unit, who otherwise have weakened immune systems, or who have cystic fibrosis which is a genetic disease, involving abnormally thick mucous in the lung.

Skin infections caused by pseudomonas mandate usual hygiene measures such as hand washing, using protective wear, disposal of infected materials etc. But not 100% guarantee of protection.

LongDieTheQueen!!: Elizabeth was a queen,not a king! And the bacteria of her namesake(not really)is found just about everywhere.It depends in the amount in your wound and can cause a wound infection. Now, pseudomonas is a well known nasty little bugger that infects wounds.In general,there are single antibiotics that could treat both,but treatment should be verified with tests of the bacterial susceptibility to them.

Rare: Getting any infection after thoracoscopy is rare, but if this occurred it could be due to underlying infection in the area scoped, or contamination at the time of the procedure.
