See below: Before seeking medical care you may try a period of resting the stomach without feeding for a 1-2 hrs and reintroducing a smaller amount and allowing your infant to digest things more efficiently by keeping him/her upright and allowing the stomach to empty. Reflux can be common. Loose stools is an infant norm-never formed or hard. If fussy and not consolable see your doctor or go to the er.

i have esld and suffering from horrible diarrhea that is neon green and slimy, resembles an infants "spit up" and smells like formula. is this normal?

ESLD: It sounds like you have MALABSORBTION secondary to insufficient BILE production. Try limiting your FAT intake!!!  You should be in contact with your gastroenterologist and you should discuss your nutrition as well as a way to treat your diarrhea!

Yes: It contains milk and flour, so if the baby is lactose intolerant or has food hypersensitivity to milk or wheat products, it could contribute to loose stools and/or diarrhea.

No medications: It is not recommended that babies be treated with medications for diarrhea.If you are nursing, just continue and make sure your baby is having wet diapers.If you are giving a cow’s milk based formula,you can change to a soy formula or lactose-free formula which are easier to digest.If there is vomiting, fever, cough, decreased wet diapers or the diarrhea isn’t improving, please call baby’s doctor.

Viral Illness: Viral respiratory infections can be associated with stooling changes including change in consistency/color. Maintain regular diet especially encouraging increased low-sugar fluid fluid intake with diarrhea. Avoid otc cold meds and tx cough w/ humidify air, elevate head of bed, or even pasteurized honey if > 1 to - to dr. If rapid breathing, wheezing, high fever, or wet diaper > 8 hr apart.

Common with breast: milk to have constipation, don't worry, if you need to supplement, try a different brand of formula,introduce little amounts in the beginning then advance, if your baby is growing and passing urine fine, he/ she will be fine, keep following up with your pediatrician, good luck

: If child has diarrhea more then a week you should go to your pediatrician. Child could have bacterial infection and could be dehydrated from diarrhea. Don’t use any medicine without doctor’s permission.

Time is your friend: If your child had a gastroenteritis, it can take weeks to get back to normal.....push fluids and calories, so the intestine can heal.  As long as there is no blood and the child doesn’t lose weight, you are ok

Rash, cough, diarrhe: It is difficult  to treat &amp; diagnose rashes without seeing  them &amp; he also has cough &amp; diarrhea,  yes he need to be checked, at the mean time keep him hydrated.  no milk for 24 hrs, give pedialyte &amp; baby rice cereal, saline nose drops to calm his cough until you see his doctor.  Good luck.
