Many things: The pain over the clavicle could be from the clavicle itself or radiate to the clavicle, clavicle pain could come from the joint on both sides of the clavicle. Other kind of pain could from many sources including but limited to the heart.

Referred pain: From cervical spine, muscle sprain  or nerve irritation. Get a good clinical exam of your neck, chest, lymph modes, and shoulder region muscles.

i'm 2+ yrs post double cervical fusion. 41 y/o now w chronic bilateral clavicle pain closer to ac joint side. pt failed. feels like fascia won't give!

Spasms: These symptoms seem like muscle spasms and fibromyalgia or fibromyositis.  Physical therapy, proper easy exercise. Best remedy is PT with TENS stimulation and even acupuncture.  Local ice packs alternating with gentle heat will help. See an expert in fibromyalgia.

i have been diagnosed with a syrinx. left neck, clavicle pain and numbness of my fingers. the most recent mri shows a syrinx from c6-t1 and my previous mri a year ago shows a syrinx at c6. i have been told it is too small to cause the pain. thoughts?

Neurosurgeon: This is a question best answered by a neurosurgeon. Collaboration between the radiologist and a neurosurgeon who has examined you would be ideal. I do know that in cases of a small syrinx a conservative approach is usually best.

can the chest ribs be asymmetrical?i feel the first right rib(the bone right below the right clavicle) is more protruding than the left rib. problem?

Sounds normal: Nobody's body is perfectly symmetrical. Some people require differnt shoe sizes on each foot, women may require differnt bra cup sizes, and ribs may protrude more on one side than the other -- etc, etc, etc. This doesn't sound like something tow orry about. But discuss with your doctor if you remain concerned.

Nerve impingement: I would recommend seeing a physician. You may impingement of a nerve across the region of your clavicle.

Sounds worrisome: I wouldn't delay seeing a local doctor with those symptoms.  It could be an old fracture evolving (if you had an injury), but less likely since it has been for years.  There are both benign (non-cancerous) bone tumors and cancerous bone tumors (various bone sarcomas).  You need a simple X-ray of the clavicle area and to be evaluated by an orthospedic surgeon or sports medicine specialist.

i have a mild protruding right clavicle. only the medial portion close to the sternum. mild soreness that occurs occasionally. to the touch it feels like the actual bone is protruding out more than the other side. no redness.

Uncertain : This can depend on different reason. It may be the way you were born. You may have had an injury. It's best to discuss this with your physician and perhaps get imaging.

why could a broken clavicle affect the mobility of the scapula?

Clavicle is a strut: The clavicle is the only connection the scapula (and the rest of the arm) has to the rest of the skeleton.  The clavicle acts as a strut to keep the scapula in the proper position.  A shortened clavicle from a break can cause the scapula to become hunched forward, affecting its mobility.
