: By definition normal benigh PVCs do not have R or T PVCs. Discuss with your heart Dr who knows you and your family history.

i have multiform pvcs. i am seeing an ep he says they are benign, but they scare me. should i get a second opinion? i'm scared it will turn vt or vf

Mult. PVCs: Electrophysiologists deal with this every day. I guess if he feels confident you may trust him. If you still feel insecure go for the second opinion with all the pertinent documentation or tests done.

Yes: Beta blockers are the first line of therapy. If they don't provide adequate relief, they are combined with a 1c agent.  There are other treatments as well. Ask your doctor about prescribing this/these. If he's not comfortable with that, ask for a referral to a cardiologist.  I see people with pvcs everyday.

Usually : no cause: In the majority of cases, no cause can be found. That said, check your electrolytes for deficiency: magnesium and potassium. Avoid stimulants: nicotine and caffeine. Check thyroid (TSH). Get plenty of rest. Avoid stress. If all those fail, they'll either go away by themselves (they often do) or you'll need medication to help.

Yes, Benign: Pvc's are common and don't lead to VT or vf.
Ventricular tachycardia and ventricular fibrillation are extremely serious and fortunately not very common.  Pvc's are a single abnormal early beat by the ventricle.  Most of over 50 probably have a few of a day, and just don't notice it.

Benign PVCs: Intermittent, sporadic pvcs are extremely common and most people will get them some time or other, usually at times of stress. They are called "benign" because they are not associated with any particular pathologic cause. The cause is stress and excessive activation of your Adrenalin system. Intermittent Adrenalin discharges associated with stress are a normal part of the human experience.

Yes: PVCS are benign and should not be affected by amoxicillin.

Magnesium: Avoid Mag sulfate. Try magnesium aspartate, gluconate or oxide.

have metoprolol for benign pvcs.  scared to take the 25mg tablet.  can i start with a 1/4 dose and work up?

Why?: What are your fears? 25 mg is very low dose, many doctors start at 100 mg.  it would be a waste of time and a waste of your medication to decrease your dose to 1/4.  You need to discuss your specific concerns with your prescribing doctor.

Yes: While anxiety cause them to last off and on for days if you are symptomatic or are feeling them then you should get checked out.
