No.: There is no way to get the med into all areas of the prostate. This has been tried in the past with no success. It also hurts if not done with anesthesia.

Cured if symptoms go: If symptoms are gone you are probably cured. Why prostatitis? Cultured? Std? Should not affect sex function except as it replaces passion with worry.

Seek help: It very well could be some form of infectious prostatitis. But what I would be most worried about is if your reported weight loss is related to this, as this may suggest a possible associated infection in the blood stream too.  That weight loss is quite concerning over that period of time.  You need an in-person evaluation to better determine what is going on.  Best of luck.

is this a safe drug? and wise for prostate?

Prostatitis: Flouroquinolone antibiotics are generally considered a good choice for prostatitis. Prostatitis typically should be treated for at least two weeks with antibiotics. flouo- quinolone antibiotics can be associated with weakening tendons when taken by people over the age of 60 or people that were taking corticosteroids. It is fairly unlikely to occur with a short course of antibiotics

i am trying to cure my prostatitis naturally versus using cipro (ciprofloxacin) as prescribed because of the driug's awful side effects.  is this wise?

No: You really need to take the Cipro (ciprofloxacin) if you want to get better.  There is no natural cure that works for prostatitis.

Relatively safe: Every medicine has side effects.  Some of the more worrisome side effects are more important while the human body is going through "growth spurts."  listen to your body, if you begin feeling like you are suffering from any side effects then consult your doctor who is treating your prostatitis.

Xatral: The drug is used for bph. It is an Alpha blocker and can cause dizzyness and fatigue. It can also cause orthostatic hypotension.

Only men: It is very common and can be treated with antibiotics. If you have continuing symptoms or concerns you may need to see a urologist.

Not at all: Although it is much more common in older men, any man can get prostatitis.
