Muscle/rib: Chances are if you poke something on or right under your chest and it hurts (or feels better) - you're poking a muscle, rib, or part of the cartilage in the ribs.  Try some ibuprofen, warm packs, and avoid poking.  We worry about left side of the chest because that's where the heart is... So it's always good to get examined by a doctor with weird pains in the chest.

It can: Anything that helps you to relax, massage, a pleasant evening with friends, petting a friendly cat, can help to lower your blood pressure for a short time. Long-term blood pressure lowering requires more extensive lifestyle changes and possibly medication. If blood pressure is a problem for you, see your doctor to plan out your strategy for taking care of it.

Unhappy ending?: Best answer I can come up with is that somehow your upper cervical spine was extended and pressure is put on the greater and lesser occipital nerves.  Which innervate the lower occiput and mid occiput (back of the head).  Try to keep your head in a neutral position or move it from side to side and dance cheek to cheek with the massage table.

i was getting a neck and shoulder massage and woke up to being extremely sweaty and pale. the person giving the massage said i was shaking and eyes were twitching and was snoring. could she have hit a pressure point?

: What you described is suggestive of seizure. It would be prudent to consult your doctor, preferably a neurologist. It would be advisable to avoid driving and operating machinery, till the issue is sorted out.

Depends: Sometimes a massage will be painful especially if the person is having a flare up because there will be several areas on their back that are tender to the touch.  However the pain may improve after the massage therapy is complete just as exercise is difficult and painful for a person with fibromyalgia while they are doing it but they feel better after and overall better. Warm water therapy helps.

when i massage my head/ear/neck area (mainly my head), the pressure is gone. what could be causing the pressure in the first place?

Several things: Knowing where the pressure is located &amp; what aggravates it could help narrow the field, but pressure/pain in the head/ear/neck area relieved by massage could be due to tense scalp/face/neck muscles, stress which tightens muscles, inflamed nerves in the region, damaged ligaments in the neck, &amp; more. Such pain is rarely serious but a visit to the MD or osteopathic doctor could determine the cause.

Soreness: Yes , I would recommend heat  15-20 mins at a time.

Tension Headache: Tension headache is the most most likely answer.  Depending on frequency and severity of your headache, you may fit migraine criteria.  There is not direct scientific explanation for why applying pressure helps, but massage and pressure is most likely reducing stress and redirecting your pain receptors to process non-headache pleasurable input.  If headaches daily, visit a neurologist.

i've had bad back pain for awhile now. massage helped the first time but there's a big pinch which stops me from putting pressure on leg. who do i see?

Primary Care: A primary care physician can examine you and tell you why you have pain. If they cannot, they may refer you to an orthopaedist to assist with diagnosis and treatment options.
