Yes: but the ones that work are prescription meds. Try warm tub soaks and high fiber diet, drink 80-100 oz caffeine free alcohol free fluid daily and this should help. If not see your doctor or a colon and rectal surgeon

Not soon enough!: If only swelling/irritated, should go in a few days--if has a blood clot, may take weeks. Many things people think are hemorrhoids are really not, so if pain persists more than few days, see your doctor.

Yes: 35 year old gentleman with hemorrhoids and symptoms wants to use over the counter remedies.
Of course, you can use these over the counter remedies. However, you should see your doctor for a full exam. Another thing to consider is to eat a diet high in vegetables and fiber, stay hydrated, and avoid straining. Hemorrhoids have several stages and you can get banding and other indicated treatments.

See below: Suppository is designed to slide into anus (pointy end first). Have a high oil content so slide easily. Designed to dissolve to deliver medication (prep h-decreases swelling of hemorrhoids). Yes, leave it in-it dissolves. Shouldn't hurt but if youre tense, it can feel tight. Try some deep breaths & inserting it as you exhale. Can wear a glove or wash hands after. Ick factor is  the worst part.

: Be sure to sit on soft cushions and not hard surfaces. Also, applying a warm sitz bath may be helpful and can be purchased at a pharmacy. But, mostly, it takes time to go away. Keep your stools as soft as possible it minimize all straining since straining will increase the hemorrhoid. If it does not resolve after 7-10 days, see your doctor. Good luck!!

Yes but why?: Prep h contains astringents which help shrink swollen tissues, and a lubricant--helpful with irritated anal tissues but not appropriate to use elsewhere. Try something made for the area that irritates you rather than possibly introducing something harmful.
