: Your glucose monitor may be inaccurate. A blood sugar of 23 is incompatible with consciousness. If you're experiencing frequent hypoglycemia, consult an endocrinologist ASAP for evaluation &amp; advice. Appropriate testing,advice&amp;follow-up will be obtained. Avoid eating concentrated sweets in case you're getting  reactive hypoglycemia where blood sugar spikes up causing release of insulin&amp;overshoots.

Probably not: The fasting glucose of 100 and hba1c of 5.7 are borderline high, the other tests are normal.  Diabetes is defined by fasting glucose above 125 or post prandial glucose above 200, or hba1c above 6.5%.  People with prediabetes will typically also have triglycerides above 150, HDL cholesterol under 50 in a female, hypertension, and obesity.

my mom is suspected to have prediabetes. she went to have it checked and they only did 2 hour tolerance test. checked fasting levels, and after 2 hours post drinking 75g sugary drink. levels were normal. i think full 3 hour gtt should be done. no?

: All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Talk to the doctor who ordered the tests. A person in her late 60's has a primary care doctor, and that doctor can evaluate for conditions that lead to an increased Hgb A1c test result. High average blood sugars is the main reason, but there are other conditions that can give a slightly high number when sugars aren't bad.

You need to get a glucometer and start checking your blood sugars pre-meals and at bedtime as well as any other time you feel like the sugar is low. You need to find out from your endocrinologist the range of blood sugar you need to maintain.

Talk to the doctor who ordered the tests. Having said that, normal values are from samples drawn in post-absorptive, recumbent state, first thing in the morning. If your sample was drawn after exercise, it need to redone under proper conditions.
