Neither: They're very similar in structure, efficacy, and safety/side effect profile.                                      But because they are slightly different, one may be better for you than the other.
Your doctor should be monitoring your progress on these meds.

Pravostatin maybe: There is an interaction between amlodipine and statin drugs which can cause a breakdown in muscle tissues. It is more common with Simvastatin than pravachol (pravastatin). The recommendations say Simvastatin dose should be 20mg or less if taking amlodipine. So both of your choices are ok. But assume risk slightly higher with simvastatin. Note Simvastatin maybe more effective in lowering cholesterol.

Change: Ii depends why your regimen changed. Could you go back to the old regimen and take Simvastatin + beta blocker.
Amlodipine can be taken any time of the day.

Increased = ceased: Your observation about the chronology of when the dizziness became worse and the increased dose likely confirm this. Contact your md if this is anything more than minor and in particular continues for more than 3-5 days.

Fenofibrate: Lofibra is an entirely different chemical from zocor (simvastatin). There would not be cross allergy.

Yes, But Weak Statin: Atherosclerosis begins in childhood &  cholesterol (a fat made by every one of our cells) is not the correct issue. However, lowering cholesterol production with statins (as a way to lower LDL particle concentrations) has lowered cv ds & mortality rates in all human trials to date. Pravachol is a weak statin, crestor, (rosuvastatin) in human trials, more effective & safer. Get NMR particle test & better options.
