Not Usually : The dentist who takes out your tooth will determine whether you need followup antibiotics. Levofloxacin
 is not usually the best antibiotic for this purpose. If the doctor feels it's needed (s)he will write a prescription for the proper medicine.

Pain after dental: You need to contact the oral surgeon or dentist that performed the surgery   -   If you are having pain and infection despite oral antibiotics  - the solution is to remove the offending root tip (more surgery)   left untreated this could develop into an abcess or worse yet infection into the sinus cavities

i'm 12 weeks 6 days, i went to the dentist yesterday for an extraction and there was a still a lot of infection. wondering if the baby is ok?

Depends: If you are taking  only ordinary antibiotic by mouth and our infection is mild your are ok. If your infection is severe enough with high fever, low blood pressure, and abnormal blood count, you need to be in hospital for intravenous antibiotic. This may, may have some impact on your baby.

Literature: Did not see this in the literature. Common side effects are back pain and bladder infection. Ask your dentist or pharmacist for more information.

Not always: But this may not be an infection.  If the root tip is still there, I would recommend trying to have that removed if possible.

Many ways: Be certain there well-nourished and in stable health before the procedure. Informed the surgeon of all medications being taken orally.  After surgery keep the diet liquid or one that can be swallowed without chewing for five days.  No smoking.  Lightly brush and thoroughly rinse surgery area with a disinfectant.  Follow all instructions of the surgeon.  Add probiotic bacteria  like kefir yogurt.

Azithromycin: A "Z-pak" or generic azithromycin is a favorite replacement for pcn in many cases. Clindamycin is a more heavy hitter if needed. Consult your Oral Surgeon for best in your specific circumstance. Good Luck.

Wisdom teeth: Debridement may be necessary to remove the infected tissue from the wound in order to promote healing of the area. 
You can expect to be put on a course of antibiotics and an antiseptic mouthrinse  for about a week.
