atrial ectopic tachycardia vs atrial tachycardia? what's the difference?

Sinoatrial node.: The normal heart rate "pacemaker" center is in the sinoatrial node, a part of the right atrium. Ectopic atrial tachycardia means that the pacemaker region (the part that is setting the heart rate) is in another location, &amp; is acting erratically. Atrial tachycardia implies that it is the sinoatrial node that is acting erratically. They are similar, but the heartbeat starts at different points.

Diction: Ectopics can arise from the atria and the ventricles, the site of origin and mechanism lead to differences in symptoms, prognosis, treatment etc.  From your submitted quote I suspect either a dictation or transcription error.and the reporting physician likely would appreciate having this pointed out for correction.

i have been diagnosed by cardiologist with benign atrial ectopics. i have had constant ectopics every third or fourth beat for a couple of days. is this harmless? how can i stop them?

NORMAL: Absolutely normal. They could be related to caffeine, stimulants, decongestants or nothing at all. The Holter does not need any follow up.

Cool the room: You may wish to cool your room. It is likely that this is not due to any illness, just the ambient temperature. Atrial ectopic are not to blame.
