Sinoatrial node.: The normal heart rate "pacemaker" center is in the sinoatrial node, a part of the right atrium. Ectopic atrial tachycardia means that the pacemaker region (the part that is setting the heart rate) is in another location, & is acting erratically. Atrial tachycardia implies that it is the sinoatrial node that is acting erratically. They are similar, but the heartbeat starts at different points.
