What are you asking?: Other than the obvious fact that it gets you intoxicated, not sure what you are asking about "the mental effects of gin."  not different than any other alcohol.  Beer, wine, and hard liquor all have the same effects on the brain.

Same as any alcohol: Less likely to cause hangover, but causes the same liver inflammation, scarring and damage as any other form of alcohol, as well as damage to esophagus, stomach, pancreas. Also can be toxic to the heart, the immune system, the bone marrow (which makes our blood components), impairing our ability to fight infections and our general immune system. PLUS, it causes many kinds of cancers.

Running?: ToanN~ it depends on what positive effects you are looking for? If you are training for a marathon you need about 10mi a day with 1 days rest and a 20mi run once on the weekends and if you are trying to shed 5 lbs in weight, perhaps 2 mi, 2 - 3 times a week will do????
