Keep it up: Keep doing what you're doing. That area heals very well even if not sutured. Miralax (polyethylene glycol) seems most popular.

: Drink more water. Eat extra fruit and vegetables. Add natural fiber to your diet. You may also use over-the-counter fiber supplements and stool softeners.

Constipation: Try a high fiber diet consisting orfruits, vegetables,nuts, figs prunes and raisins. Also eat high fiber cereal. Go easy on the milk and milk products. If diet doesn't helptry using miralax (polyethylene glycol)

Metamucil: Metamucil is perfectly okay to take while your are breastfeeding. You will not harm your baby either

Tear depth matters: Usually stitches are only needed for deep tears that go into the muscle or tears that don't stop bleeding. It's possible to have a skin tear that goes to the anus that doesn't need repair. Anything deeper may need a stitch, though unlikely. Stool softeners, always. Poop everyday, or at least every other day and smooth. Fiber matters.

i am 4 weeks postpartum from my first c-section. the site where my internal stitches hurts. its not unbearable pain but its painful. is that to be expected?

: I don't regard this as unusual. Some scar tissue may be forming making the area tight. Presence of redness, swelling,drainage of pus,marked tenderness would be worrisome. If you still have concerns, notify your obstetrician.

See remark: If you gave birth,then the stitches are of episiotomy ,a cut in skin below vagina to facilitate the delivery.Some stitches take longer to "dissolve" If your doctor allows it take  sitz bath daily.yo may have urinary infection ? takeAZO  tablets from drug store 3 x day (no script needed) and drink cranberry juice twice a day. If no relieve ,see your doctor Wishing you the best in health "neighbor"I
