Try an enema, then: That is quite a bit of backing-up! at this point, i would try to evaccuate by using a fleet enema, (sodium bisphosphate) follow by using a gentle laxative such as senokot-s or even the miralax-powder, both are otc. Increase fluid, roughage such as fresh leafy veggies/fruits. If this persists, consult doc. Good luck.

Listen to doc: I'm not sure why you are not listening to your doctor. There's a fissure and a tag there. These totally explain the symptoms you are having. Colonoscopy normal - super! Now focus on treating yourself.  You need to get your stools softened, get the tag removed if it hasn't been done, and then your fissure can heal. Fissures can be extremely painful if stools aren't very soft. Get going on treatment

ive had some red in the toilet recently i do eat a lot of beets and red foods no pain when i poop and not pencil thin im worried its something more. do these stool tests for cancer you buy at drugstores work? would like peace of mind?

For detecting blood: The over-the-counter stool blood tests are similar or the same as ones used in doctor's offices. A person in her 50's needs to be seen by here primary care doctor for a check-up and screening for diseases, including but not just cancers. It is ok for the patient to do an OTC stool test, but she still needs to see her doctor for preventive care every 2-3 years.

Proctologist: For peace of mind see a proctologist or colorectal surgeon for a thorough examination of your rectum which will involve an anoscopic or proctoscopic examination. Mention your history of anal receptive sex 2 years ago so that appropriate testing for HPV will be performed.

Stimulants: After a stimulant to move your bowels the stool is released under pressure and this can help.  However if the sphincter is not relaxed then stool is forced out under pressure and it becomes pencil like.   It should be ok however as long as you are not having other problemsl.

Abnormal anal canal : If pencil thin stool is going on for more than few days, then you need to see a gastroenterologist or a colorectal surgeon. Physical narrowing of the anal canal or rectum needs to be ruled out.  This could mean a serious problem. So don't delay.

"Pencil" stools: refers to the effect of a "circling" cancer of the colon/rectal area...but more frequently is due to Spasm of the lower bowel seen in IBS. If they CONTINUE it needs attention and a "look/see"

Thin Stool: Is this the first time this happens to you? Do you have pain or bleeding with bowl movements? Any family history or colon issues?  If this is something that continues or you answered yes to any of the questions you need to see a gi.

Watch it: The narrowing of stool caliber in colon cancer comes on gradually and is consistent. Everybody's bowel movements change considerably from day to do and being overattentive to them is not helpful. If something is obviously wrong and it lasts two weeks or is painful, she should be seen.
