what can i do for poison ivy or poison oak . got medicean from the dr but i think it's getting worse. it has spread up my leg an is very swollen ?

Typically if it is: all over, you may need oral steroids. The way the resin from the plant spreads is actually through your nails, so cut them short and scrub them. Try soaking in tub with aluminum acetate to dry out blisters, apply topical steroid I am sure your doctor gave you after soaking 10 min at least twice aday and call doc for oral steroids if not getting better in next 24 hours.

May need to be seen: Put some over-the-counter hydrocortisone on for now, perhaps under plastic wrap. If you have any trouble breathing or aren't able to sleep, get seen. I'm going to assume that this is due to your exposure to the leaves.

my 2yo had what we thought was poison ivy. prior he had gunny eyes, not pink eye and after the same. he gets fevers ever 3-4 day and hives randomly every couple days not necessarily with the fever. for 3 day he had a swollen eye. what could it be?

: Infection should be considered and treated as indicated. Please see urgent care or the emergency room at a children’s center. The fever and swollen eye may not be related to poison ivy, but rather to an infection. Monitor your child for facial swelling and difficulty moving the eye.

: the poison ivy poison (cell sap) can stick to cloths and blankets and pets. I am amazed that you can ask such a question at age 2.   Very good. Ask parents to wash all clothes that may have been when you got exposed and if at home to not let pets or you out to play where poison Ivy grows.

Ask them to also check the meds being used for allergic reaction possibilities. Ask them to call your Drs.
