Usually : Usually when gingivectomy is carried out a dressing is placed over the area-- you do not brush or eat in the area for one week.  Gingivectomy is a rather superficial reshaping of the gum and is not done much anymore.  There are more comprehensive surgical treatments.

I : I would suggest taking 2-3 weeks off work.  This is a big surgery with a long incision and requires your body heal for several weeks.  The more time you give your body to heal, the better your recovery will be.  Please visit my web site for more information.

tested positive for covid with symptoms. i need a negative test to return to work. when can i get retested? do i have to wait a certain amount of time? i've seen 10 days since symptoms started but i don't want to take that much time off work?

: You can have to test done now. If the test is positive you should not worry because test may remain positive for many weeks in certain people although you are less likely a host after 10 days without fever for more than one day. Cough is not a sign of contagious condition because it will last for weeks. After 14 days since the time you have symptoms &amp; positive test you can go back to work per CDC.

Possibly depressed.:  We aren't able to get you that time off of your job that you desire. However, if you believe you may be depressed, would recommend that you get medically assessed for this. You can start with your regular physician who can evaluate and rule out medical causes.

Variable: That depends on a number of items: the type of work you do, the method of acl reconstruction, and the graft choices. In some situations, it may take 4-6 months before returning to work. On the other hand, I have patients that are able to return to office work a couple days after an all-inside allograft acl reconstruction. Definitely ask your surgeon!

Depends: Depending on the level of difficulty of the extraction you may need to take a day off from work. Ask your dentist what he thinks. Many patients who have an easy extraction go back to work the next day.
