May need physician: Severe allergy-like symptoms, especially with pain may need attention from your provider as other things can cause eye pain such as iritis, foreign bodies and infections. Typical allergy symptoms are not usually so painful, but more annoying.

been 2 two different eye docs. both says allergies but red lines on eyes since july. eye pain behind eyelid comes and goes.now seeing eyelashes. why?

Blepharitis?: Inflammation of inner lining of eyelids can cause irritation of the eyeball, leading to redness. It can also cause the eyelashes to be redirected toward the eye so that they enter the field of vision. Your symptoms are suggestive of blepharitis. You should ask about this. Make sure you see an ophthalmologist (someone who treats eye disease), not just an optometrist (who just prescribes lenses).

Treat allergies: If the optometrists diagnosed allergies then get treatment from them or your health care provider for the allergies which might be causing your vision symptoms.

woke up with a swollen,puffy eyelid this morning.it has happened 3 times in the last month.was itchy the previous night.eye itself doesnt look red or painful.i do have a history of allergies (hayfever etc).eyedrops usually helps,should i see a doc?

Is it or isn't it?: Did your physician do a dilated exam of your retina?  If not you need to see a board certified opthalmologist asap to determine this.  Your treatment hinges off of this...

See an Eye MD: A swollen eyelid on one side is not likely due to allergies.  See an ophthalmologist for diagnosis and treatment.

No: Eye floaters are an annoying chronic problem.  There is no specific treatment for them.  If you notice a sudden increase in the number of floaters this can be a sign of retinal detachment and must be evaluated immediately.

are bloodshot eyes a sign of high blood pressure? my doc says its allergies/irritants, but im always worried its bp-related. numbers slightly higher at doc office (149/86 last reading) but in 120/130s over 80s at home. should i worry?

No: High BP is determined by measuring your BP. Red eyes are not a symptom of high BP. You'll get the best measurement of BP by checking it at different times (morning, evening, etc) at home, and averaging. Bring your BP cuff to your doctor's office and compare to theirs. If you get a higher or lower reading, then figure that you have to add or subtract as your machine is a little off.

for months my eye has been irritated when i put on contacts went to eye doc he gave me allergy eye drops & igave my eyes a 2wk break from contacts.

allergy preservative: Allergy to preservative in eye drops can cause irritation to previously tolerated contacts. Only use preservative free eye drops
contact shd also be checked if ok and free from scratches or deposits.

my doc says cos i'm allergic to ondansetron that i'm also allergic to antihistamines, what can i use for gritty itchy eyes due to spring allergies?

Huh?: Ondansetron allergy is very uncommon.  I am no allergist, but there is no apparent overlap between the antihistamine H1 and H2 receptor and the antiemetic HT3 receptor that I am aware of.  In addition, antihistamines have been used as part of the treatment of ondansteron allergy. I suggest you clear this up with your doc.
