Dark chocolate.: Tasting some dark chocolate every day in this context would be fine, but just a little bit. Like a bite or two. Don't go buying chocolate bars in bulk now. More is clearly not better here.

Q: i was taking effient and doc changed me to plavix (clopidogrel). my blood is dark and thick now. will this go away and it is caused from changing blood thinners?

The medications: should not change the appearance of your blood. Neither the color nor the thickness. Both of those drugs are platelet inhibitors. They are not blood thinners. Express your concerns to your health care provider. I am certain he/she can explain the reason for the change in medication and any potential effects you might experience.

Plavix: I would be hard pressed to blame the plavix for the flu like symptoms and feel that it's very important to take it and aspirin because of the recent stent placement. However if it's proven that you're intolerant of plavix, there are other antiplatelet agents, such as brilinta that you could take. Discuss this important question with your cardiologist.

Q: can artharitis shots be taken while on plavix?

: Your chances of bleeding into the joint after injection into it are increased if you're taking both plavix&amp;aspirin. Most people go off their anticoagulant, aspirin or plavix for 2-7 days before an intraarticular injection. Your physician or cardiologist may not want you to stop your plavix at all and the orthopedic specialist or rheumatologist may ask you to forego the joint injection.

Q: can i take beets or beet powder while taking plavix?

: There is no known interaction between plavix and beet products.

Q: can plavix replace eloquis or zarelto & is it milder than the two?

No. Arterial vs veno: Plavix represents an entirely different class of blood thinners than Eliquis &amp; Xarelto. Plavix (Clopidogrel) is an ARTERIAL blood thinner &amp; stabilizes cholesterol plaques that are found in arteries. That said, there are no known interactions between Plavix (clopidogrel) and caffeine.

Not a good idea: Green tea inhibits platelet aggregation & adhesion; the combination with Plavix (clopidogrel) may increase the risk of bleeding. Ask your doc if a lower dose of Plavix (clopidogrel) might be sage with green tea. Or choose a tea without anticoagulant effects.
