Plasmacytoma is: A collection of monoclonal plasma cells, either in a bone or in soft tisues. Its biopsy or removal can be confirmed microscopically and immunohistocheically by a pathologst.  While it may presage mutiple myeloma, a systemic disease, some remain localized and are treated with fractionated radiotherapy.

Yes: This is a localized tumor of the cells that cause myeloma. It most often occurs in bone. Usually it is treated with. Radiation. About 50% can develop myeloma. A full work up for myeloma should be done to be sure that this is a plasmacytoma.

B cell neoplasm: There are cells in the bodies immune system that are known as B cells and otherwise known as plasmacytes.  They produce antibodies that help fight infection.  Cancers can develop in which B cells grow and reproduce without control.  When these plasmacytes form a single tumor, it is called a plasmacytoma.  When the cells form multiple lesion throughout the body the term is multiple myeloma.

If it is in one location doctors refer to this as a plasmacytoma. However if widespread involvement the disease is in the spectrum of multiple myeloma.

They are related: Localized Myeloma(one spot of tumor) is called a Plasmacytoma. Once the disease spreads to involve many parts of your bones(bone marrow exam shows it too) then it is called multiple myeloma. The treatments for the two entities may be different. Your oncologist  should explain it to you, if you ask,.

They are related: Plasmacytoma is a localized form of multiple myeloma. When we look and search deeply, many such patients already have some evidence of systemic disease(Multiple myeloma). But some cases are truly localized to one spot in which case they can be cured with local Radiotherapy(and may be bale to avoid taking chemotherapy, which is standard treatment for disseminated disease.
