Depends: If only dry eyes and dry mouth, would recommend only treatment of symptoms.  If there is extraglandular manifestations (such as inflammatory arthritis, neuropathy, other internal organ involvement), then immuosuppressive treatments are used.

Hydroxychloroquine: As a rheumatologist, I have patients on Plaquenil for years. At the doses we now use, side effects are rare. I think all patients, on Plaquenil or not, should have an eye exam once a year.  I would be happy to consult with you, if you have any more specific questions.

Possible?: Acriquine is on a list of drug interference medications and it is a derivative of chloroquine also. drugs.com
I have not been able to locate any information to confirm that concern. If a positive(false) does occur requesting a more sensitive test in a reasonable response.

Very unlikely: In terms of suppressing the immune system for the body to heal itself after surgery, plaquenil (hydroxychloroquine) does not lower the immune system, so it should not interfere with the surgery or post-op period of cervical fusion.

Not usual associatio: This is not a usual association but unsteadiness or ataxia is an association. Plaquenil (hydroxychloroquine) stays in the body a  long time. Thus if it is related  it  may take a while. You need  to discuss this with your  physician.
