i'm a woman on accutane. had sex and condom broke but also taking bc pills. chances of pregnancy?? should i take plan b as a backup?

Very unlikely: If you have been taking birth control pills at least for a couple of month  as instructed then you should be safe from pregnancy.  Because of birth defects with Accutane it is mandatory that you take birth control. All the best.

Birth Control pills: Your birth control pills are 99% effective in preventing pregnancy.  This is true even during the week that you don't take the pill if you are on 21 day packs instead of the 28 day pack.  Plan B isn't necessary. Condom use in this scenario is primarily to prevent STD transmission.

Absolutely cannot...: Cannot have sexual activities without fully effective contraception while on Accutane and for some time after stopping Accutane because the drug causes birth defects. Cannot depend on PlanB because PlanB is merely a good backup. Can discuss this with Ob-Gyn doctor to see what the best course of action is, and discuss with the Accutane prescriber about switching meds to something safer.

im on acutane and had sex april 7th night, alittle cum (i think) came out the stop of the condom. im on bc for 3 months without missing a pill. should i take a plan b 48 hours after ?

The rest are okay: I'd urge you to get your vitamins from a balanced diet rather than a bottle. Avoid taking vitamin a itself; if your dermatologist isn't adverse to your taking a multivitamin with only a small amount of a, it would be okay. Your vitamin d can come from reasonable sun exposure.

No: Fortunately there are no foods that will decrease the efficacy of Plan B from working,  i don't think any medications interfere with it's effectiveness either.

can plan b loose its effectiveness? i understand this might be circumstantial i.e. twice in one month, four times in six months, ect..

It would not: loose it's effectiveness . Follow the instruction on the box of the medication.

is it safe to use accutane?

Accepted Answer

Depends: Read the i pledge book for all the side effects and decide if the timeing is right for you.  Good candidates love it and have gotten their acne under control. Laser skin care is very helpful with acne and if you do a series of those treatments it will lower your dosage needed for complete acne control.

does plan b effect periods?

Accepted Answer

It can: Affect bleeding a little bit by changing the lining of the uterus, that's how it works, but it doesn't affect ovulation (egg release) which affects a monthly cycle.

can i take plan b with juice?

Accepted Answer

: No reason not to but if you want to be safe than might just take with water.
