Other reasons also include premature rupture of membranes, a bleed called a sub chorionic hemorrhage, placenta overlying the cervix in anyway as the cervix opens...many reasons.

POT[t]S: Stands for postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome and is caused by abnormal activity of the autonomic (automatic) nervous system (ans). I think that the "abruptio" and the pots are from a common cause---- compromised body chemistrry,  in the control mechanisms of the ANS and the normal function of pregnancy. My guess is that it is due to lousy diet that provides the energy for  cellularfunction.
