Cushing's Syndrome is any glucocorticoid excess syndrome including a pituitary adenoma, an adrenal tumor (benign or cancer), a cancer paraneoplastic syndrome (cancer secretes ACTH or CRH), or exogenous glucocorticoids. Treatment of Cushing's Disease is removal of the pituitary tumor.

Need more info: The removal of the pituitary through transphenoidal surgery is fairly straightforward, in the hands of good surgeons who do this routinely.  But why is this being done?  You will have to replace the lost hormones, typically thyroid and adrenal and sex steroids. If there is an isolated pituitary tumor, they should remove it and leave behind normal pituitary, if possible.

Yes and no: While it's not necessary to specifically have periods, it is important to replace female sex hormones that your body would've naturally produced. Not taking birth control pills would effectively send you into a a very very early menopause which has its own long terms risks in someone as young as you. Good luck!
