how do i know when pityrasis rosea is starting to clear?

PR: It is a nice time of year. Spend some time in the sun it speeds up resolution of the rash.  Otherwise it doesn't always but can take several weeks to resolve.  As an aside a rash which appears like PR but involves the palms and soles may represent secondary syphilis which is very important to diagnose and treat so it doesn't get worse or spread to others.

Pit rosea: Hi ~ yes when it starts to flake off it may get itchy. You can apply OTC 1% hydrocort or better try some calamine lotion all over the rash. Its on the heal now !

Roseroot: Roseroot is a herbal supplement derived from a plant that grows in cold climates near the artic circle.  It has been used for years as a way of improving mood in russia.  There is some very limited data on its effect on mood and depression in humans but there are some animal studies that suggest it may work on pathways similar to antidepressants.  Take cautiously!

No need to mix: Alternative herbal treatments are poorly scientifically studied , if you have mild depression/anxiety, they may help you, but is not recommendable to mix it with other "orthodox" medications like Bupropion. For one we don't know of the potential pharmacodynamic  nor the kinetic interactions, and as you say the potential danger of the mix. therefore chose one way or the other, but not the mix.

Daily indefinitely: Rhodiola is an adaptogen, a herb that supports our bodies in many ways and is considered a safe tonic to use indefinitely. Like any medicine, too much can cause side effects (like anxiety and irritability) but that is unlikely with doses of 200-400 mg/day.
