did tape test for pinworm. got something white but did not move. looked at it an hour later and it look liked there was nothing on the tape.

Pibworm : It is not easy to find the pinworm  they come out at night  &amp; cause itching in the perianal area, that is why you apply the tape at night hoping they get caught on the tape . You  can repeat the test &amp; ask your Dr to send a stool sample for the eggs.  Good  luck.

my son has an itchy bottom sometimes during the day or night, he doesnt know if its just placebo effect or not and is convinced its pinworms it could be an anal fissure as he has had one in the past we cannot tape test because we have no insurance?

Call doctor...: The tape test is simply putting a piece of scotch tape over the anus at night to see if there are any pinworms on the tape in the morning. Pinworms tend to come out at night and the tape would catch them. If there are no pinworms on the tape in the morning, then he likely does not have pinworms. Anal fissures can also cause itchiness. He needs to see a doctor for diagnosis and treatment.

does this look like a pinworm or something else? my diet is high in protein and carbs. i'm a bodybuilder and super active. my anus was itching but i did the tape test and found 0 pinworms.

Probably not: anal itching can be caused by local irritaion. try using baby wipes after you wipe with toilet paper for a few days and apply 15 hydrocortisone  to area for 3-4  days
see your doctor if this doesn't help

Scared ?: These are common human only parasites that are just a nusicence not a threat. There only downside is the itchy skin rash they cause on the bottom that causes aggravation. They are easily treated.

Pinworms: Take a simple precautionary oral treatment for worms once a year.

Need exam of stool: Pinworms usually produce severe itching, particularly at night, around the anus.  A scotch tape test looking for the worms is the best way to diagnose this and is fairly simple.  No way to know what the "string looking things" are without some tests.

Maybe/not: PW's will come out to lay eggs around your anus when you have been still for a long time, often at night. See through tape applied across this area at night can show eggs or sometimes worms. You itch because of the glue like ooze the eggs are deposited into. It's not the only reason people itch there. Food allergies, yeast or germ infection, etc. can also cause it.

which investigation may be the best to start with to find the cause for my yellowish stools ? stools test, lab test or imaging test ? as a short note, i did has a parasite infection 3 years ago with pinworms, but i fixed it with albendazol?

pinworms or hemorrhoids.i've experienced a little bleeding and constipation, also mucus in my stool....i'm 32 weeks pregnant, haven't really had bad anal itching.i've also checked with tape no worms or eggs and i've checked in the middle of the night?

: Hemorrhoids appear more likely, check with your Ob-gyn at next visit. Try avoiding constipation, keep stool consistency soft. If proves to be hemorrhoids, it will get better after delivery.

Dont understand qs.: Pinworms die if the anal-oral cycle is broken--meaning if you do not itch and then put your fingers in your mouth.wash your hands and be careful.there are very safe medications to treat them too.talk to your dr.
