Need more info: There are several reasons that will cause these symptoms. like "pinched nerve", muscle spasm etc. I would suggest that you make an appointment with a D.O. (osteopathic physician) to examine you and get to the bottom of why you have this complaint.

Paresthesia: You're describing local paresthesia. This is a nerve problem.  The potential causes vary: from benign entrapment (physical pressure on the nerve) to issues with the spinal cord to metabolic diseases that you want to catch early.  A physical exam by a physician is often necessary to fine tune the differential diagnosis.

Go to the ER: If these symptoms are recent in onset, especially if there is any fever, you need to go to the emergency room now.  If there is no fever and the symptoms have been present for some time and are not progressing you can wait and be seen tomorrow.   An immediate concern would be an infection that could be life threatening.  The symptoms may still be part of a serious condition even if not infection.

However, your symptoms may be an indication of nutritional deficiency. Try taking multivitamins with B12 available over the counter. Apply emollient like Vaseline to your body after taking shower/bath.
