i had an hsv1 tear done which was negative and 3 months later had the breakout. is this possible. i had tingling about a year. how can it be negative though i had symptoms ?

HSV test?: If meaning an HSV test (not a tear), there are different kinds of tests, and all tests can have false negative or false positive results. Also, HSV symptoms can overlap with symptoms of other medical conditions. That means having HSV symptoms doesn't always mean having an HSV infection. Likewise, having an HSV infection doesn't always create HSV symptoms. That's why a doctor's expertise is needed.

Yes: There are a number of sensory nerves around that area and it's not unusual for some of them to be irritated by the surgical process causing numbness or tingling.

It can: If the swelling in the shoulder is enough to put pressure on the nerves to the hand.

Please clarify: A vertebral artery dissection would be very unlikely to cause the symptoms you describe. Sounds more like a cervical radiculopathy. You need to provide more information. If you don't know, you need to clear this up with your doctor. A lost of people post questions here that are of trivial importance. This isn't one of those. Get the facts.

You need: a complete evaluation starting with your Primary Care Provider. The numbness is probably not associated with your leg pain but both symptoms may be from pressure on the nerves in your SPINE!!!! (called "Radiculopathy")
See your PCP who may refer you to a Neurologist or a Spine expert!

Symptoms not due to: Melanoma in situ or lentigo maligna was cured 8 years ago. Symptoms related to shoulder or neck. Should be checked yearly by dermatologist. Cured from 1 skin cancer= increased risk of future skin cancer.

Probable progression: Please follow up with you PCP for appropriate referral.
If you already have Lumbar disk disease  and have developed numbness/tingling in foot it is most likely a progression and needs appropriate care.

Not due to disc: Get further information about your peripheral neuropathy issues.  The chin and lip symptoms are in the distribution of the trigeminal nerve and involve brainstem, facial mechanisms, not "discs"!  you might have a dental issue affecting the mental nerve branch.  Need to uncover causation here.  Many such problems respond well to treatment.

mri-ddd-brd disc displcment-annlr tear/facet arthropathy/left form  stenosis w/ l5nerve abutment.for 1.5 years, tingling left foot/constant. any chance it's just neuropathy? scared about nerve damage.

No not just. : Neuropathy from that report. See a spine specialist . Maybe an epidural will help, specialist will give guidance
