There : There are a couple reasons why he may be sick again:
- he may have developed a new viral illness that isn't going to be successfully treated by antibiotics since antibiotics treat bacterial infections
- he may have a new bacterial illness that is resistant to the antibiotics he is on.

At any rate, you should call his doctor and have him seen since it's impossible to tell what is going on without an examination.  I would definitely want to see any of my patients with this history.  Hopefully, they can figure it out and get him better for you!

When looking normal: When the eye looks and feels back to normal then that is usually a safe time to resume makeup and contact lens wearing.  Also, pink eye is what most people call a viral conjunctivitis. As a virus is causing the symptoms and not a bacteria, unfortunately the antibiotic drops you are taking would not be expected to resolve the infection or make you not contagious, unfortunately.

Stick with the original doctor call him and let him know how you are progressing.
