Be careful: Do not lift weights overhead, as you could potentially have problems over right brachial plexus, or intrinsic rotator cuff issue.  Possibly even thoracic outlet syndrome.

Shape of the chest: since it is common to many members of the family equally between males and females,then it must be the shape of the thoracic cavity that could be inherited is the cause of the problem
costochondritis is common in some family more than others more common in female because of the breast weight and the nature of the bra women ware

Arguably : Arguably the worst possible cause of severe pain felt in the shoulder blade and deep into the chest would be an uncommon condition called aortic dissection.  Problems with the gallbladder and heart can also cause pain in the region of the shoulder or armpit (axilla).  The spinal nerve corresponding to t2 also feels an area that involves the armpits and hoop-shaped strip of skin that runs across your chest above your nipples, through your armpits, and across your back at about the same level (it also involves part of the skin on the arm).  After excluding things like dissection, heart problems, and gallbladder problems, a neurosurgeon may be helpful to get to a diagnosis and some relief.

Physical therapy : unlikley heart probem. " pinched nerve" in neck and collar bone can be result of repetitive use as holding phone by chin, prolonged poor posture at work. lack of exercise... Physical therapy may be helpful to imrove posture , flexibility and reliev area of nerve entarpment or pinch. regullar stretching and exercise, work ergonomic evaluation is important.maintain healhty body weight as well.

You : You have had head trauma and now have neurological symptoms. You should get to a doctor as soon as possible. The shoulder symptoms may be related to an orthopedic issue. Both should be evaluated.

yes: Relatively rarely, a lower cervical radiculopathy can present with chest pain. Obviously, one would want to do a thorough workup of the much more common and worrisome cardiopulmonary causes of chest pain first. I do have a few patients that have had multiple cardiac workups that were negative and only got relief after neck surgery.

Radiculitis : A pinched or irritated nerve in the lower cervical/upper thoracic spine can cause the symptoms describes. Less common possibility is brachial neuritis. Your doctor may be able to diagnose your condition by obtaining a relevant history from you and performing a physical examination. Mri is often needed +/- nerve studies to confirm the diagnosis so targeted treatment can be provided. Good luck.
