Groin infx/abscess?: Sounds like it may be a groin abscess or possible folliculitits.  Certainly a possible infection may be there causing your issues that periodic arise in the groin.  See the Dr. when they are present, and get the proper diagnosis as the best treatment would follow. Sometimes cystic abscesses need to be !&amp;D'd/excised or they will continue to return as long as their "core" remains.  Best wishes.

See below: Problems like these can only be correctly handled by your doctor in person.  He/she needs to listen to you, perform an examination and possibly run labs or other tests. That's the only way he/she can find out what's going on and what to do about it.

Not HPV: Genital warts and other HPV infections don't cause pimple-like problems. The large majority of genital area skin problems are not caused by STDs. There are several kinds of inections and inflammatory conditions that might cause this. You'll need to be examined in person for this. Good luck.

Infection: You have to see a physician who will culture this and explore exactly what it is we are dealing with . At this point it can be an infection, sinus tract or abscess.

: Rapid serologic testing has positive and negative predictive values of 92 and 99 percent, respectively. It means if you are tested negative, 99 percent you do not have HSV infection. Because you were tested (-) many times so chance of HSV infection is almost zero by statistics.

Often bacteria: The groin is a common place to get boils or "pimple like" lesions.  Naturally occuring bacteria like staph is on our skin, and sometimes shaving, or small infected hair follicles can get inflamed and irritated causing boils, absceses, or pimple like lesions.  You should see a dr. And get an exam and proper treatment, good luck.

PProbably: He probably has hidradenitis supparativa also called acne inversa and apocrine acne. He should see dermatologist to discuss treatment options.
