A few days: It sounds as if you have a sty on the inside of the eyelid. Try heat to the eyelid (a small baking potato heated in the microwave and wrapped in a cloth and the applied for about 10 minutes  every 4-6 hours should help). This will help it to mature and open--probably 1-3 days.You should see your MD to confirm and prescribe an antibiotic once it opens and drains

Cyst: A small bump under the skin could represent a cyst. Typically cysts are benign and do not require treatment unless they grow or become sore , etc.

Swollen eyelid: You may have an infected eyelash. Apply warm compresses to eyes several times a day.Apply an antibiotic ointment to the area after using the compresses. If no relief after 24 hours see an Ophthamalogist for antibiotic drops

Hordeolum/stye: is caused by an infection or blockage of the duct of
 one of the meibomian glands in the margin of the eyelid.  It is more common after rubbing and friction of the eyelids or eyelashes, esp with eye allergy, chronic blepharitis and with contaminated eye make up.  It is possible that the ipl caused the eyes to dry out and become irritated, and connected that way.

Stye: Your description sounds like a stye.  If warm compresses and lid scrubs do not help, you should see an eye doctor to see if topical medication or surgical excision is needed.

Yes: 25 year old lady with upper eyelid bump and eye irritation. It is quite likely a sty or chalazion. You can use a warm compress applied to eye for a few minutes and then wash your eyelid/eyelash area with some baby shampoo. If the problem gets worse, see your physician for an exam because antibiotic ointment can be used. Try over the counter artificial tears for the eye dryness.

Likely a chalazion: Chalazion or meibomian gland cysts form due to blockage of ducts of the glands in the eye lid. These can get inflammed may need removal. If you are not in undue stress, you can wait to have it examined at your next visit to your doctor and discuss the need for removal.
