Both: Fetal age is of course the exact age of your fetus as determined by measurements taken of the baby.  Fetuses have different rates of growth or may have problems with growth, so sometimes the measurement age doesn't match the "expected" gestational age.  The best "age" is determined by an early ultrasound between 6 and 12 weeks gestation.  Accuracy of ultrasound decreases as pregnancy progresses.

Not possible: Whereas it would be great to be able to see a fetus develop week by week throughout pregnancy, it just isn't  feasible.  Insurance companies will not pay for the ultrasounds and doctor's offices are primarily focused on the diagnostic aspects of ultrasound.  Anticipate a possible dating scan, 18-20 week anatomy/ level 2 scan, then depending on clinical picture a scan in the third trimester.

does a level 1 ultrasound and level 2 ultrasound produce the same image of the fetus?? i know level 2 measures more body parts but i am curious if the overall silhouette of baby is the same on the photo

Yes: The silhouette should be about the same the level 2 US has much more detailed anatomy and development picture

can a fetus develop a cleft lip after 21 weeks?  just had my 35 week ultrasound and there's a big line in the upper lip in her face pictures.  worried

Cleft lip: It is possible. Although this occurs in earlier stages. For now, you should just wait and see. Hopefully your child won't have one. But even so, there are many good surgeons and centers that can correct the problem.

i am 37.5 weeks pregnant. the hospital i went to shows no signs of a fetus. my hcg levels are normal and i have ultrasound pics from my doctor.?

???: Don't know what you mean "hospital shows no signs of a fetus".  An ultrasound was done showing an empty uterus?  "hcg levels are normal" - what does this mean?  Hcg is not elevated, i.e., consistent with not being pregnant?  If elevated, what's the level? Simply because you have sono pix from your doctor at some point doesn't mean you're still pregnant, but need more information.

is this okay for a 1 month old to do? my baby was born 6lbs 2oz and 19in long. hes now one month and since like two weeks back hes been eating 4oz of formula milk every 2hours and a half-3hours during the day. at night time it weird, like yeaterday i fini

Don't : Don't wake him up!  thank your lucky stars that he's a good sleeper and let him sleep through the night!  unless he has a genetic disorder that requires him to eat every few hours (and you would know this because it is part of the newborn screen), it is fine to let him sleep throughout the night - even 8 hours if he'll do it.  He may want to eat more during the day if he's sleeping more at night, so if he's draining that 4 oz bottle, you may want to offer 5 or 6 oz.  He'll let you know when he's hungry.  Congratulations on your baby!

my nephews pupils are dilating unevenly one is small the other is large he's going to be 1 month old on the 16th, what could this be?

Check: Have his eyes checked. His ability to respond to light may be a problem. Some people have different sized pupils but have him checked. All the best.

Small frequent meals: It's hard not making mealtime a battle, but remember his stomach is only the size of his fist.  Offer small healthy meals three times a day with 2 healthy snacks and don't expect him to sit longer than 10-15 minutes at a time.

4 month old had peas size lymph nodes when he was 1 month old now their seem to be more and they are large and the pea size ones have growin?

Accepted Answer

Pediatrics: A child that young especially should not have growing lymph nodes except perhaps around the ears. Please have him examined right away.
