: Yes, this can be a serious precursor to stroke. I have had a patient recently who presented with severe headache and had a left visual field cut due to the hypoplastic artery occlusion. The patient is 78 years old with no other CV pathology, no heart problems and no atrial fibrillation. There was occipital lobe ischemia on MRI but no hemorrage. We treated her with corticosteroids and anticoag.

What do U eat?: Pica is simply the craving for & consumption of non food items. In infants this may be dirt or paint chips etc.Older kids & adults may branch off into paper, small objects, bits of plastic etc. Junk food does not qualify. The downside of pica is the possibility this undigestible material will block the gut  & require surgical removal of a jumbled mass.
