Not typically: But if you've tried it a couple of times and noted that it does each time, then that may be a reaction you have. If its relieving pain the pain may be inhibiting your appetite.

i am on birth control and took azo maximum strength for uti pain. the only active ingredient is phenazopyridine hydrochloride. will this interfere with birth control?

: No.  Just be aware Azo is a “pain pill” for the bladder, not an antibiotic.  You may feel better but its possible the bladder infection is continuing.  At your age, you should get a test for urinary infection (Many drug stores sell test strips to determine if the infection is ongoing)

i have the equate urinary pain relief maximum strength. each tablet contains 99.5mg of phenazopyridine hydrochloride. i took 1 tablet. is it safe to breastfeed my 3 month old? if i should avoid breastfeeding, for how long? should i pump&dump?

: By PDR. net: "it isn't known whether phenazopyridine is excreted in human milk ... it is prudent to avoid phenazopyridine use while breast-feeding, especially with an infant LESS THAN 1 MONTH of AGE or has a glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PD) deficiency." If there is no history of G6PD in your family's medical history, you should not worry much with only one tablet of 99.5 mg phenazopyridine

Not recommended: Discuss you symptoms with the OB doctor. If you're having urinary symptoms, they need to be treated adequately. Urinary tract infection can have serious consequences in pregnancy if not properly addressed.

No: Smz/tmp should not be taken during pregnancy, there are not enoigh studies to recommend Phenazopyridine during pregnancy.  Pls don't take left over meds given to you , always consult your dr about this.

Antibiotics needed.: It is better to get treated with antibiotics because  a bladder infection can turn into a serious kidney infection if not treated correctly

It should be ok: It is safety category B, means most doctors would say it's ok.  May be take one pill only instead of two that come in the packet.  Still try to verify with your doctor.
