can carbide peroxide damage your ears? my ears felt like they constantly needed to be popped, no pain or discharge beforehand. now i have an earache?

Unlikely: The drops should not cause a problem.  If you do a lot of flushing, or put instruments in your ears, that can cause problems.   
Popping ears often mean eustachian tube dysfunction or allergic rhinitis.   Try otc Claritin ( generic is fine, ) or any of those allergy like meds.   Nasal steroids ( nasacort) is now also over the counter and can help.   This is not related to your earwax problem!

I hate peroxide : As a rule i tell my patients to 100% leave their ears alone. Qtips and peroxide should never be used in the ear. Both cause far more problems than they solve. In your case the skin of your right ear may have been inflamed and the peroxide made it worse or you might have had a small hole in your eardrum and the peroxide got into your middle ear space. Do nothing more to your ear and see a doctor.

See a doctor: This needs to looked at by an md, only by this can you find out why so much discomfort and treat it appropiately.

Possible TMJ: An ear infection usually follows a cold and has hearing loss, sometimes fever and drainage.  It can affect one or both ears.  The exam is abnormal.  If both ears hurt and exam is normal consider TMJ problem from chewing muscles being tight or infection behind palate.   Hearing is normal but ears might feel full.

does putting drops of rubbing alcohol in ear for earache help?

Not a good idea!: Will not help a mid ear infection-need an oral antibiotic. May cause significant burning in an ear canal (outer ear) infection. Severe burning if you have hole in eardrum with infection. Only ok, mixed with white vinegar, for ear canal drying/cleaning, if no canal inflammation & no eardrum perforation. See an otology/ent md for treatment.

Be seen: Take a dose of Advil or Tylenol (acetaminophen) and apply warm compresses along your jaw. See your doctor for assessment and further treatment. All the best. I hope you feel better soon.

Get checked out!: Have your doctor or urgent care check it out and make the diagnosis.  If you've had same symptoms before with diagnosis then that's probably what it is.  Your doctor can give you ear drops to take care if it.  No swimming until it clears and keep ears dry.  Wear plugs in pool or shower.

Tinnitus: Tinnitus or ringing in the ears has many possible causes and infection is one of them.  As the infection resolves, so should the tinnitus. See your ear nose and throat physician to evaluate the ringing in your ears.

35yr old and i get frequent earaches. i have had my ears cleaned 2x in 3yrs and had a hard black lump come out each time. what could be wrong?

Dry ear wax: The lumps could be ear wax there were hard and dry.

i get earaches occasionally.  i find that if i lean my head sideways so that the ear that is aching is facing the floor the pain goes away.  is this a clue as to what might be causing the pain?

Check with your doc: Your doc should look inside your ears. No big deal and better than any speculation. Have to fixed to avoid complications.
