Not necessarily: Aggressive brushing with hard bristles may cause pain in the gums.  Bleeding with routine brushing is a more common sign of periodontal disease. You should be seeing your dentist at least once a year for preventive care and should the issue with her/him.
For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. 
Practice safe sex.

Floss! Floss! Floss!: Attempt to correct periodontal issues by flossing daily. Skipping days is like not flossing at all!  don't floss to remove food, floss to clean the side walls of each tooth. If you see bleeding, then you probably need to observe how much of the tooth surface you are actually wiping clean.  Toothbrushing is way overrated.  If it worked you wouldn't have gum disease!  have a dentist monitor efforts.

Absolutly: There are many ways to reduce inflammation. A simple one is  mixing 10 drops of oreganeo oil with 5 drops of olive and 5 drops of clove oil. Get a rubber tip and massage your gums with a few drops of the oil if its to strong reduce the oreganeo oil you should see a change in  a few days.

Depends : Periodontitis is an inflammatory condition caused by certain oral bacteria and characterized by bone loss around teeth. Some people can have very poor hygiene and never develop periodontitis. Others can have seemingly very good hygiene and struggle with ever increasing levels of bone loss.
