i'm on tri-sprintec and i take is correctly. my periods are not regular; they are early or several days late. is this normal?

Common: One of the most common side effects of birth control pills is irregular bleeding. If these symptoms are going to subside, they usually do so after the first three months. You can work with your doctor to find a reason, but sometimes the solution may be either a different pill, or a different birth control method.

tried to skip a period unsuccessfully, on tri sprintec now i've been bleeding for almost three weeks and i don't know what to do.

Need to see dr: You need to see your gynecologist to see what is going on.  You probably need some labwork and a sonogram to figure out what is causing this and get it treated.

Not with Trisprintec (norgestimate and ethinyl estradiol): Triphasic pills are not reliable enough to avoid menses, monophasic pills would be better

Yes: just pretend you are taking 1 pill a day for 7 days; your accident is a very unusual one, what were you thinking?

Take all pills: You should complete all of the pills in the fourth week of the pack before starting the next one.  It is normal to have your period during that week.

Brown discharge: most likely old menstrual blood mixed with vaginal and cervical ( sexual) mucous. If you have been having unprotected sexual intercourse, I would advise a GYN exam and STD screening.

Yes, but...: You don't have to take the pills during the placebo week. There is no hormone in these pills, only iron. It's generally recommended to keep taking the pills so you stay on schedule and don't forget to start the next pack of pills.

i just got my birth control, tri-sprintec, pack my period is supposed to start next week on tuesday, should i start this sunday or the sunday after? or can i start taking them right now?

: You either start on the first day of your cycle or on Sunday after the onset of menses, i.e. do not take this Sunday if you think you will not have period until next week. Remember to use additional non-hormonal contraception (such as condoms and spermicide) for the first seven days of the patient’s first cycle pack of Tri-Sprintec.

i'm taking tri sprintec birth control pills. every 4 weeks, i take placebos & have a period. is there any birth control to take to stop having period?

Not competely: The lining of the uterus needs to resurface to stay healthy.  Laike any surface of the body it only lasts so long.  Longest without a period would be three months.

how can i skip my period while on tri-sprintec?

Call the doc: Who put u on that pill, and ask your doc, I do not prescribe that generic pill, I use mostly monphasic pills, my #1 pill is loloestrin and if my pts want to skip the period they do not take the placebo pills and start a new pack, this works much better with a monophasic pill than a tri- phasci pill that u are on.
