my period ended on the 16th nov.  on the 24th november i started getting discharge/period very dark and its mainly clots and jelly like.  "period" heavy. its been a week and i am worried?

Hormonal imbalance: Menstrual irregularities are not uncommon and anovulatory cycle is a common cause. If you miss more than two periods it would be time to see your doctor. If you do not wish to be pregnant, use contraception all the time. You may consider implanted contraceptive or an IUD.

Normal: It's normal to have a delay in return to normal, regular monthly menses after cessation of the depot Provera (medroxyprogesterone) shot.  The Progesterone from the shot can have an effect on menstrual cycle and fertility for a few months following stopping, so this is normal.  Jelly discharge is normal cervical mucous mixed with blood.

Probably nothing: This is not likely anything to worry about.  Some women have a tiny bit of spotting with mucoid discharge during ovulation.  Hope you're using contraception if not desiring pregnancy.  If your period does not appear at the end of the cycle you should take a pregnancy test!

Increased estrogen: It is likely ok.  Depending on the BC pill you are on, you could get an increase in cervical mucous.  And its ok to have a light to nonexistent period on the pill.  Check a pregnancy test to be sure and if it is negative then its ok to monitor and continue the pill.  If you are concerned about STD exposure you should be checked sooner.

Wait and see: At the end of the menstrual cycle the remaining blood and tissue pass although you are 28 so I am sure you know that. If you feel the discharge is abnormal schedule a visit for testing. If your breast tenderness and abnormal veins continue then schedule a visit for a breast examination.

Depends: Normal vaginal discharge - all women have some vaginal discharge. Normal discharge may appear clear, cloudy white, and/or yellowish when dry on clothing. It may also contain white flecks and at times may be thin and stringy. Changes in normal discharge can occur for many reasons, including menstrual cycle, emotional stressors, nutritional status, pregnancy, usage of medications.

Probably nothing: From time to time women will complain of an isolated "weird" period. Generally, an evaluation doesn't find anything abnormal. If however, this persists, then you should see your gyn for an evaluation and possible us. These "weird" periods probably occur from a change in hormones that corrects on its own.
