No : If you are taking Progesterone you should not get a period till you stop the medication.

NOT normal: This is highly abnormal and needs to be investigated by a qualified specialist.  There are many, many possible reasons for this, and an excellent doctor needs to find out why this is happening in order to best treat you. You : You are experiencing irregular periods. This may be due to anovulation, which basically means you may not be ovulating. When ovulation stops a hormonal imbalance occurs in your body, which ultimately leads to a thickened uterine lining. This lining is eventually shed t(your period) however this happens in an abnormal pattern, as in your case., 
reasons for anovulation are:
sudden weight fluctuations(increase or decrease)
stress/anxiety
polycystic ovarian syndrome (pcos)
thyroid disorders..Etc
i recommend you consult your primary care provider or gynecologist for a work up of your irregular periods.

Irregular cycles: Irregular cycles are fairly common when menses first begins.  The time to seek evaluation is if menses stop for more than 4 -6 months, there is abnormal hair growth, sudden worsening of acne, increased weight or other symptoms. You should followup with your doctor for further evaluation.

Oral contraceptives: I assume not pregnant. A short course of oral contraceptives generally can regulate periods. Need to discuss with physician.

You can not: There is not a way to make your self have a period without taking medication. Birth control pills can help give you control over when your period comes but not in one day

Possible: The average age for menopause is 50 to 52, but any time from the age of 40 on is also considered normal for menopause.  Your doctor can run some lab tests that will determine whether you are menopausal of if there is another reason for your amenorrhea.

Letrozole/PCOS: Using letrozole for PCOS controls estrogen effects on uterine lining.  If the "BC" to which you refer was oral birth control pills, it is uncommon to have bleeding that lasts "8 days".  See your gyn provider for an exam. There is not enough information in your statement to provide more accurate information at this point.
