what can you take for a headache if you take a percocet?

Focused Headache Med: Percocet is not a great medication for a headache. While the opioid may help dull the pain, it does not treat the underlying vasodilation/venous spasms or muscle tension that cause most headaches. Discuss headache medicines such as reglan, (metoclopramide) compazine, and prophylactic medications with your doctor. If you have a headache that is different than a normal headache, you need to go to an er.

i stopped taking percocet  from a surgery i had two days ago. i have a all day pounding headache . what can i do to ease the bad headache?

Withdrawal: You may need to wean yourself off more slowly from the percocet. One weaning regimen is taking a half tablet for a few days and then going to half a tablet every other day. Consult your prescribing surgeon.

Percocet: one of the side effects of percocet is nausea/vomiting, it can also cause lightheadedness but unaware of headache

It's OK: If you have stopped your Percocet, you don't need to worry.  Ongoing narcotic use--we worry about neonatal abstinence syndrome--withdrawal.
It would be ideal if you can find a solution for your headaches that doesn't require narcotics, and maybe seeing a doctor who is a headache specialist can help find a long term non-addictive solution.  GOOD LUCK!!

Spinal tap headache: You may have spinal tap ha. Most spinal headaches  resolve on their own with no treatment. However, spinal headaches lasting 24 hours or more may need treatment. Call your gyn  if the headache gets worse when you sit up or stand.

: Not possible. Percocet is a controlled substance that due to scrutiny and legal limitation can only be prescribed in very limited circumstances, under no circumstance on this platform. Get established with a doc, long term side effects of opiates like percocet are devastating.

Contact Your OB: If your c/s was done under spinal anesthesia there is a good chance you are leaking spinal fluid from the insertion point. Placement of a blood patch in the same area will often stop the leak & the headaches that go with it. Your OB can arrange this for you.

See your PCP: Any headache must be viewed as a valid medical disorder and the headache assessment must be comprehensive. See your PCP for headache evaluation, tests and treatment options.

Potentially, many: For one thing Percocet contains acetaminophen (tylenol) which is especially dangerous in people who are drinking heavily.  Central nervous system depression, which can be potentially lethal - respiratory depression, aspiration, coma, death and brain damage - can occur with combinations of opioids and alcohol. See a family counselor or attend Alanon to get help for yourself, hope she gets help.
