for 3 months i've been experiencing all symptoms of peptic ulcer except for bloody/dark stools. recently i altern. between loose and regular stools.
the only thing found in my stool is campylobacter.
is it possible that this bacteria is the cause?

Re-explore: Your symptoms that you describe certainly sound more like gall bladder or liver related. Would seek urgent evaluation probably by G I specialist and anticipate blood tests and possibly other tests as well. Any chance of hepatitis or toxin exposure?  Would not delay if possible.

Not likely: Although the most common side effect of metformin is diarrhea, it is usually not bloody or dark.  Victoza (liraglutide) can cause nausea, occasional vomiting, but not ulcers or bleeding.  You should see your doctor if this continues.

Visible blood?: Visible blood is from a different source (hemorrhoids or bowel). If from peptic ulcer, you are severely ill, shocky, and need er now (but unlikely). Occult blood may be from ulcers. In any event, need to see md.

Hematuria: Please ask your doctor to order TODAY a urinalysis and culture, and consider initiating antibiotics for possible urinary tract infection. Any history of stones?  Have you been taking a lot of NSAID's for your headache--if so, please stop!

H.pylori test: The 2 most common causes of stomach or duodenal ulcers are infection with the helicobacter pylori bacteria and the use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory (NSAID) drugs such as aspirin, ibuprofen, naproxen, meloxicam, etc.  H.Pylori testing can be done at the time of endoscopy or on blood, stool or breath samples.  Large stomach uclers should be biopsies to rule out cancer.
