If you did not see fall, they landed on head, they are vomiting,  not moving normally or acting unusual in any way they should be seen now.  If there is any loss of consciousness , seizure activity or you are alone with child call 911.

The sudden sense of falling as you get to sleep is not vertigo, but a variation of something called myoclonus, benign.  See your doctor or ent.
