i have really bad edema in feet and ankles since pelvic surgery two months ago what could it be?

Edema: It is normal to get edema in your ankles and feet after pelvic or hip surgery. You were resting and not very active  for the last 2 months since your surgery. Ask your surgeon if he/she can refer you to a physical therapist to help you gait train, to get some exercise to help your circulation. Maybe you can start pool exercises. Cut down on your salt intake. Keep your feet elevated while sitting.

during pelvic surgery they saw a kink in my large intestine. would adhesions be visible if they were the cause? what else could be cause?

Adhesions are seen: If thisisthe first operative procedure then no adhesions to be expected.  On  the otherhand excess bowel , especially in the sigmoid colon can result in a twist or kink known as volvulus.  Did kink get resolved by the surgeon.  Intussecption can also  occur and look like kink if intraluminal lesion present.

had pelvic surgery to remove a tumor, cyst, fallopian tube, and ovary. is it ok for me to do exercises like squats?

Pelvic surgery ?: Depending on the type of surgery (laparoscopic vs. open abdominal incision)  and the time elapsed after same, exercise may be resumed. But best is to check with your surgeon about the timing of  his/her recommendations for this kind of exercise.

after pelvic surgery 3 yrs ago for endo, i developed bladder pain in my lower abdo that radiates down to genital area (near and around urethra). no pain when passing urine or when bladder is full. does that sound like nerve pain and is it treatable?

: Most things are treatable. Pl see your Gyn for accurate diagnosis for that is needed before any treatment. In the meantime try sitting in warm bath twice a day. Hope you feel better

Vaginal surgery: Most prolapse surgery is done through the vagina.  The prolapse is from a hernia in the tissue that supports these structures and is usually from childbirth trauma.  The use of polypropylene mesh is probably the most permanent repair, despite the fda warnings on mesh.  Litigation attorney commercials have harmed mesh use, but it usually works the best.

what is the fastest way to heal from a male pelvic sling surgery?

Talk with your MD: Ask your surgeon regarding activities to avoid and what they recommend.  But generally: avoid squatting and take it easy for the first couple of weeks to allow the sling to scar into place.  Don't push it early, you will be happier in the long run.

3 months post pelvic prolapse surgery.  went to pelvic pt yesterday.  staining today. menopausal for 2 years.  is staining reason for concern?

Mesh?: Prolapse surgery with some spotting after surgery?  Hard to know so would suggest you check in with your prolapse surgeon.  If you had a mesh reconstruction, you need to think about an extrusion of mesh vaginally.  With uterine preservation, need to think about post-menopausal bleeding.  Tough question with limited information....Sorry.

i've had yeast infection after yeast infection after having pelvic prolapse surgery.  i never had this issue before surgery.  i need help!

Need a GYN evaluatn: If you have had your ovaries removed, then you may need some vaginal estrogen to balance out the ph in the vagina.  Also, if you had any vaginal mesh placed, you should see your gyn to make sure that is is not exposed in the vagina.  At the minimum, recurrent yeast infections can be treated with a weekly dose of a medicine called Diflucan (fluconazole) for four weeks.

1 week post pelvic prolapse surgery. no complication.  home with catheter, removed 2 days ago.  today dizzy 100 deg temp. could this be due to surgery?

Could be Infection: Infection is a possible complication of any surgical procedure. One week out from surgery, it could be related. Or you may have developed a urinary tract infection due to the catheter. Either way, with a temperature of 100, it is a good idea to contact your doctor. I'm sure he or she would like to know about it so that they can ensure your best possible care.
