: Modern hormonal contraception, especially with the low doses now in general use, is an unlikely cause of either high blood pressure or urine protein (medical term proteinuria). Almost certainly you need drug treatment for your blood pressure, which might help the proteinuria. You need blood tests for kidney function as well, if not yet done. Keep working with your doctor. Unlikely: Birth control pills do not directly afftect kidney function.  However, they may cause an increase in blood pressure and poorly controlled hypertension is one of the leading causes of chronic kidney injury.  Both uncontrolled hypertension and obesity have been linked to the spillage of protein in the urine.  If you have diabetes as well, this certainly can also cause long-term kidney injury.

: If you had two periods since your episode of sex, you are not pregnant. Your symptoms may be due to hormonal imbalance from PCOS and it would be prudent to consult your gynecologist.
