VIsit GI ASAP:  The presence of air-fluid levels should raise the suspicion of an obstruction .there is no mention of further findings to suggest ischemic or infectious etiology.- CT can be used to diagnose intraluminal, mural, and extramural causes of LBO. In this patient a good Hx and P/E is essential to further proceed with a appropiate diagnostic test. The symptom in this patient demands  a more urgent w/u.

Chameleons vs Static: Humans change status. 2 issues: (1) like most medical tests, only issues present at moment of the test show; not previous or future issues. (2) the range of &quot;normal&quot; (as defined by medical industry: the central 96% of usual) is huge. I have seen many examples of radiologists calling images normal when the issue is quite visible within the images. Get ; examine the images yourself with assistance.

my recent ct scan says, "bowel structures: there is mild thickening to the sigmoid colon likely due to incomplete distention rather than colitis. there's no small bowel obstruction." should i be concerned? advise is greatly appreciated. thank you?

: To me the words say the radiologist thinks things are normal. The colon is like a balloon, the walls get thinner when it is completely full &amp; slightly distended/thinner when less is inside. I wouldn't over think it but you should discuss this with your doc.

You  need to see doc: With your symptoms , need  evaluation what is causing your problem, will need test including endoscopy to rule out ulcerative colitis , and other diseases, you must see your doctor soon.

Maybe nothing: why did you have the scan done?  A stomach flu might give you those symptoms .  If having a lot of pain or other issues you could see a surgeon or GI MD to scope you and they can pass a camera into your duodenum to check
