Depends: It really depends on the extent of the injury. If it is just a bruise and seems to be already getting better after a week or so, you will likely be ok. However, if it is not getting better it could be more serious and you should see a doctor to get checked out.

Plantares : Plantares tendon rupture. Back off training, heat and nsaidsand slow return as tol to full activity. To be sure see an ortho.

Go see MD: After a week most minor injuries to the knee should be getting better. The possible injuries are extensive and need to be evaluated by an orthopedist, sports med doc or joint specialst (rheumatologist), depending on who you have access to. Stay off it a much as possible until it is checked out.

Usually dramatic: This is typically a painful, traumatic and debilitating injury. Initial symptoms would be pain in the front of the knee, diffuse swelling around the knee, and difficulty straightening the knee without assistance. Often the leg feels powerless and as if you are dragging it, because the powerful quad muscle in your thigh is no longer connected to the lower leg (tibia). Seek medical attention.

Typically immobiliza: Tion and rest will assist in the healing of a patellar tendon tear.  It is critical to not continue to perform activity that might fully rupture the tendon.  I treat my patients in a knee immobilizer for 4 weeks crutches as needed, nsaids and then gentle pt out to 8 weeks from injury.

Patellar tracking : Causes can be mal formed patella femoral groove or muscle/tendon imbalance. Regardless, see a PMR doc or orthopoedist for consideration of bracing or surgical repair to prevent injury and maintain knee functioning. Good luck
